adventure is out there!

*sigh* Oh how I loved this session. Julie and Ramone came to me asking if I could capture their little family’s love for the outdoors and camping. I have to admit, I was a little nervous. These guys have been there and done that. Big Bend. Yellowstone. The Rockies. How was I going to capture and recreate all that awesomeness here in the flat lands of South Texas? Well, first of all, these guys aren’t hard to photograph. Second, as soon as the campfire was lit you could see these guys were in their element. Camping truly is their way to recharge and connect with one another. So I just shot them as they were (with a little bit of direction here and there 😉 ) These really are my favorite images to date and I hope to capture more family moments like this in the future. Julie, next family picture are taking place at Yosemite!

and baby makes four

Call me biased, but my friend makes one adorable pregnant lady. She’s just too darn cute. I knew Amanda wanted some maternity photos, but I also knew she didn’t want the run of the mill session either. Something relaxed, casual. A lifestyle session was just the ticket and it kept everything simple and laid back. Since this session Amanda has given birth to one incredibly cute, chubby, happy baby boy and we’re all just smitten over him.

Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.

Last October two of our dearest and closest friends got married. Nothing fancy. In front of immediate family they exchanged their vows and committed themselves to one another in a tiny Jim Wells county courthouse. Amanda asked me to be there simply because she wanted her best friend to partake in one of the most important days of her life. I was honored. I as well as my husband were the only nonfamily members there. So I toted my camera along and captured what I could for her and her soon to be husband.

Amanda found this to be quite amusing.

Generations

One of my favorite sessions. This shoot was extremely sentimental to not only my clients, but to me as well. Jenny contacted me and asked me to photograph her kids with her grandparents belongings out on their old ranch. I practically shouted YES. But then I became a little nervous, I wanted everything to be perfect, because I grew up on this ranch too. Jenny’s grandparents, Momo and Popo, were like my grandparents. All of Jenny’s cousins were like my cousins. I really, really, wanted everything to be perfect. And it was. From the lighting to the family items we used, these images are some of my best and favorite to date.
